Transformational leaders have been shown to influence positive work environments and support the retention of nursing staff. While exemplars found in upper-level management, implementation these characteristics unit-based is less explained. The elements transformational leader on followers organization—individual consideration, individual stimulation, inspirational motivation, idealized influence—can engage staff remain an organization which will promote patient outcomes.
